Все предположения относительно графического чипа ATI R630 и видеокарты Radeon HD 2900 Pro в целом оказались правильными — компания GeCube вполне открыто начала продавать свою модификацию GC-HD2900PRO-VIE3 и открыла характеристики. Новинка действительно использует 256-битную шину данных, сохранив все 320 шейдерных процессоров. Частота работы ядра/памяти составляет 600/1600 МГц соответственно. Подождем официальных тестов, но производительность Radeon HD 2900 Pro не должна слишком сильно отличаться от XT-версии. Карты будут продаваться по цене от 240 до 280$ на первое время.

По Сети бродит слух, что компания Sony намерена отказаться от продолжения развития бренда PlayStation. Это и немудрено, ведь PlayStation 3, последнее детище компании, продается очень вяло. Здесь стоит заметить, что виновата в этом исключительно сама Sony, которая в желании собрать максимально функциональную вещь не уследила за ценами. Затраты на разработку и дизайн (R&D) PlayStation 3 оказались очень высоки, окупать себя приставка начнет еще нескоро. На мой взгляд, Sony не сможет просто так отказаться от PlayStation, слишком уж раскручен этот бренд. Но слухи сами по себе не появляются…
